Before they were working artists and professionals, they were figuring it out in the pages of TITLE. To celebrate ten issues, we tapped creatives who shaped the magazine to interview each other. Across three conversations, they look back at the ultimate creative sandbox—unpacking the chaos of early production and exploring how building a DIY publication magazine found its voice while helping the artists find theirs.

Ryane (now an apparel design specialist at Nike’s Blue Ribbon Studios) and Braden (now an independent research consultant) trade notes on the messy, beautiful reality of artistic evolution. From outgrowing perfectionism and shaking off imposter syndrome to embracing “cringe,” they candidly explore what it means to be creative shape-shifters. Looking back at defining milestones like the Issue 005 rebrand and their “Poncho” shoot, they find that the collaborative, try-anything spirit of their early days is still driving their current obsessions—from the library to the club dance floor.

Stan (Actor/photographer/filmmaker) and Kyle (model/stylist/designer) look back on how TITLE and Cincinnati’s creative community shaped them as artists, tracing a shared “thread” through collaboration, queerness, and risk-taking that leads to their current work—Stan’s dance‑driven short film Echoes and Kyle’s fashion publication Crown the Queen City. For the two of them, mag issue themes like Golden Age and Subversion inspired works that were kinds of “self‑prophecy,” the city of Cincinnati turned into both muse and launchpad, and the “hunger and ambition” that began at TITLE still drives them to keep evolving.
ORION & HATSUE
As TITLE contributors, these fine artists gained practice in real-world creative execution, navigating the chaos of photoshoot production and professional communication. Now a Photodesign teacher and gallery curator, photographer Hatsue reconnects with Orion, an interdisciplinary artist fresh off their Flight Risk exhibition with Trans Masc Cincy. From balancing work with passion projects to shaking off perfectionism, they discuss what it takes to sustain a life in the arts and why making things “fun and funky” will always beat making things perfect.
